Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

Custody

We been taking care of a child since she was four month and she is now two. We is not a relative to us. Her mother leaves her to us sometimes months without contact. Her other child grandparents are trying to get custody of their grandson doesn't want custody of the child we are taking care We are afraid that the child we are taking care of will be taken from us if they get custody of their grandson which we are sure they will. What can we do to protect and possibly get custody of the child we have because we are not related. She has lived with us and we have been raising her like our own. It would break our heart if we lost her.

Thanks

Re: Custody

Get an attorney and file for guardianship. The fact you have mostly raised the child will give you a leg up on anyone else who fights you.
