Legal Question in Workers Comp in Arkansas

Dissagreement with Disability needs

What proceedures would be suggested to dispute a disability percentage, future medical needs assessment, and a way to find a lawyer who will look out for your best interests instead of being upset because the Settlement judge denied the request for settlement on the basis that it was not in the clients "best interests".

W/C Settlement disapproved

I can't comment about the procedures in your state. Where I practice, it's very rare for a judge to disapprove a settlement. Maybe our lawyers do a better job for the claimants .

Anyhow, that would seem to be a signal that your claim is worth more than your lawyer was prepared to recommend, so getting new counsel seems like the way to go. And that's really the answer to your other questions.

If you've already exhausted friends, family, union leaders, etc., for recommendations, perhaps you should look into disability advocacy groups in your area to find counsel who are committed to the cause.

The above does not constitute legal opinion and is offered for the purposes of discussion only. The law differs in every jurisdiction, andyou should not rely on any opinion except that of an attorney you have retained, who has a professional duty to advise you after being fullyinformed of all the pertinent facts and who is familiar with the applicable law.
