Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Personal attempt to remove lien

I plan to go to civil court to have a lien, that will expire in two weeks, removed from our property. What should I plan to do to prepare for such a venture and what are the hurdles that I can plan to overcome?

Re: Personal attempt to remove lien

What type of lien? Mechanic's lien? We have filed several motions expunging such liens. In fact, we have a hearing on one next week. Check out Cal. Civil Code section 3154. You shouldn't try legal proceedings yourself, however, as you are more likely than not bound to make mistakes, some of which can be detrimental or fatal to your rights. Let us know if we can be of further service.
