Here is what you do.

First, no matter what have your husband tell the Judge that he wants to retain an attorney and will need two weeks to do so. This will stop the current progression of the criminal case against him, which will move quickly if not stopped by a good attorney.

Second, you need to find an attorney fast. If you cannot afford one the county you live in will provide him with a public defender free of charge. These are good people and they do care. The problem is that they are just so busy and have so many cases that they feel like they have their finger in the dam and they are barely keeping it from breaking.

This sounds like a lot of time for his offense but I cannot tell you accurately until I review the evidence against him. If they found a lot of product on your husband it might be a good deal.

Joseph Low IV and Chad Lewin are both right when they say that your questions can't be answered without knowing more information about the case than you've given here. Knowing the facts of the case, where it is being prosecuted, and many other factors are important in advising a person about his options and alternatives. Since time is very important here, your husband should seek a consultation with a criminal lawyer as soon as he can.
