Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

weapons laws in california

Im a martial artist in Colorado, and I'm relocating to the San Diego area. I have a substantial collection of Chinese martial-arts weapons, and was wondering about the laws in CA. I have a couple different types of nun-chuks (three sectional and traditional), a couple different types of swords, a metal sectional whip, and an assortment of throwing stars and knives. normally, the police here in CO are pretty cool about practicing in public parks.. as long as your secluded from families and aren't being a general menace... but they prefer it if you keep it at home or in the country. also, transporting to and from the dojo isnt an issue if you arent in control or arms reach of the weapon and it is wrapped or boxed in a secure manner. im not a crazy person, have no felonies or arrests for violence and am a good taxpaying law abider etc... what am i looking at as far as the attitude of CA in my martial research?

Re: weapons laws in california

Sorry dude, nunchuks, throwing stars, and many other weapons that are legal everywhere else are illegal to possess in California (they are misdemeanors). Let alone trying to practice in public. Maybe you could consult with some knowledgeable martial arts entusiasts in California.
