Legal Question in Technology Law in California

Hi, thanks for this great service. My question is about online gambling. My understanding is that internet gambling is illegal in the United States. Would it be legal to bankroll a citizen from another country where internet gambling is legal? This individual would be gambling under his name and using his own account but would be financed by someone from the United States. Thank you for your help.

I see no issue here. The activity is legal where it is being supported. These laws are really not policed as against those participating in the US. For example, there are a number of sites you can go to that are being hosted abroad and gamble. I wouldn't trust them, but you could certainly do it. Law enforcement would arrest those operating them if they came here, however, but they are rarely concerned with the gamblers themselves.

If you are planning some large-scale investment, you may want to flesh it out further with a lawyer in private. If you would like to discuss further over a free phone consult, feel free to contact me anytime that is convenient.

Kind regards,

Frank
