Legal Question in Constitutional Law in California

Am i bind to the terms and conditons of the contract

I gave an adminisrator of a traing school $75 for a book that cost $60, we verbally agree that the $75 was for the book and not for the tuition fee and if i decide not to take the course i would owe nothing.I decide not to take the course. She told me to sign a paper which she briefly explain that the paper was just saying that she had issue me a book. Later i found out that this paper was an enrollement contract. now i am being charge for the $60 for the book and she says that the $75 were for the tuition fee. If taken to court would i be charge any other penalties other than the $60? should i let it go to court? should i just paid ? or what would be the wises thing to do?

It is too late to do the wise thing [isn't that how wisdom is?], which is to carefully read all documents before signing them.

Pay the $60. It is the cheapest thing you can do under the circumnstances. Write it in your diary as this month's contribution to the tuition of the school of hard knocks.
