Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

I have checking account levied from a creditor with a judgement in California, Is my payroll check that is used for food and shelter exempt ?, That was all the money i had in the bank. Thank You

You may file an application with the court in which the judgment was issued to exempt the total amount of check as necessary for living. You will have to bring bank statements, utility bills, and rent checks to show that your funds are exhausted by the end of each month so that there's nothing left to pay the creditor.
