Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

I recently purchased a vehicle, but the seller has opted to invoke their "right to cancel", which by my contract is defined as a 10 day window after the date of sale. The letter I received from the dealership is back-dated, however; there is a date on the letterhead, but a date of postmark three days later on the envelope, and I was not contacted by any other medium; therefore, I did not receive the notice within this window. Does this mean that the seller is unable to cancel the sale contract under this right? Thanks.
