Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

What is the right of rescission in California for home improvement contracts? We've signed a contract for a new roof to be installed. The wording on the contract says if you cancel after 3 days, they will want 50% of the contract price. I'm on day 2.

The time to have contracts looked at by a lawyer is, of course, before you sign them. By now, unless you've cancelled in the meantime, you're stuck with whatever you signed.
