Re: Bad Checks

Most District Attorneys' offices in California have a bad-check program. Contact the office of County District Attorney for your county, and check into their program. It has the advantage of not costing what a private attorney will charge you to pursue this person in court. Further, you could assign the obligation to a collection agency (for a fee) to collect, or you can hire an attorney and sue the person who wrote the bad check. There are provisions in the law for pretty hefty penalties for people who write bad checks.
