Re: law office want me to pay someones bill

Send a letter back demanding proof of the debt. That is step one. The threats are just threats, they are meant to scare you into paying...kind of work, huh?

If you wind up needing assistance with the letter or anything beyond, I can be reached at the info provided by LawGuru or through one of our firm's websites such as CVFinancialGroup.com and No-Probate.com

Namaste,

Scott

Send them a letter immediately disputing the debt and, in the letter, ask for proof that it's a valid debt, and that it's yours. Keep a copy of the letter.

You should inform them that the bill is not yours. If you fax the letter from the attorney to me, I can tell you if the law office violated the Federal Fair Debt Collection Act.
