what are the repsosession laws in the state of californica? do you have the right to withhold payment on a newly finaced vehocle if there is extensive car repiars needed shortly after pucrhsing vehicle?

There is no easy answer to your question since there is not enough information. However, as a general rule - the finance company is different than the dealer (since most dealers sell the contract to a bank or other finance company) that sold you the car and there is NO right to withhold payments on the loan. I would have to look at your paperwork to determine if that is the case for your loan.

Often my clients are advised to continue making payments and we recover those payments from the dealer at a later date.
