Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

statute for a auto repo 13 yrs ago.

I just recv'd a collections letter dated Mar 2006 for an auto repo that happened

in 1993. Original creditor: Nissan MAC. It states that I must respond w/in 30

days to dipute, or the assumption will be that this debt is valid. Please advise.

If you email my office, I will send you a sample letter that you can send to the collection agency that should stop them from contacting you in the future. This is a scare tactic and appears to be in violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practies Act. Unless you have made a payment on this debt within the last year, they cannot collect on this debt.
