Wage Garnishment

What is the maximum allowable wage garnishment percentage according to California law?

Is it dependent upon your annual salary?

No, the max depends on the type of judgment. If it is one for child support, they can take up to 60%, unless you have a second family to support in which case it is only 40 to 50%. Civil Judgments are 25% of net and taxes I believe are 25% (but do not hold me to this). You can get a wage garnishment reduced sometimes if you show you need the money to support a family. email me if you think yo would like some help.
