Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I had an Answer to my questions should I plea guilty to dui if im under the legal limit. I driving on the freeway not drunk at all I had a flat tire pulled to side of road & try to flag down help I was on freeway a tow truck came to help change tire my sister who was with me heard the tow truck guy call the police the police came I thought they were coming to help they bully me & told me I was drunk took tests & it was under the legal limits they towed my care I wasnt drunk because I manuevered the car for the tow man to change the flat, the police took me & empound my care could not send me to jail they had to release me because my test was under the legal limit, they had to let me go now i have to go to court in october whats gonna happen Im old & have two teenage kids to take care of. the police just bully me & took my care I had to pay $220 to get my car out the impound the next day. do i need to go to court with lawyer i cant afford one.

You can get a public defender if you can't afford an attorney. You will probably find you're not happy with the representation, as the PD's office is overworked and each PD usually deals with 20 or more cases a day. On the other hand, a private attorney usually charges between 1500 and 5000, depending on experience, credentials and other factors. I always think its best to get a qualified criminal defense attorney, as the consequences of a conviction are very serious and has a 10 year tail.
