Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

HELP ASAP!!!! penal code,section 490.5(b)&(c

I am 16 years old and I was involved in an incident at Forever 21 recently for shop lifting. I gave them my information when I was caught and returned the merchandise. I have just received a third notice for charges being brought against me if I do not pay the fine of $775.00 in full or in three payments within ten days or I will be taken to court. What should I do?

Pay them, and don't ever again steal anything.

I would do everything possible to come up with the money to pay and would pray they do not file any charges.

Hire an attorney to help you, as the store may prosecute criminal charges no matter what you do, and no matter what they say now. IF they actually said that in writing, you may have some leverage over them, since it is extortion to demand money in exchange for not filing criminal charges. Feel free to contact me for the help you'll need.
