Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

In California, how long can they (Sonoma county) hold a parolee on a "parole hold" without any new charges before required to release him/her? Person in this case, was not picked up on any criminal activity, was in the wrong place at the wrong time when cop asked if he was on parole, ran his name and saw a warrant for his arrest. The warrant was placed by his PO for violation, but no charges have been brought against him. He has been in custody for the past week, when will it be required to release him if no charges/violations have been filed or found?

It depends on your parole terms. A violation of parole is technically not a new charge that triggers speedy trial remedies. The person who is accused needs to get an attorney as soon as possible.
