Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

child endangerment

I was charged with child endangerment and child abuse for leaving my 3 year old in a locked car in the heat for 15 minutes. I don't know what will happen next or what the result could be.

You need to consult with a criminal defense attorney ASAP. It is hard to tell you what will happen next without more facts.

Obtain Counsel ASAP...these case can have many consequences and you will have to be fully advised before going to Court. Usually an Attorney can provide an initial consult w/o charge...this can do a lot to ease your mind and prepare you for the procedure.

Re: child endangerment

Difficult to advise you without knowing more about things like your prior record, where your case is located, the full facts of the case and whether you are charged with a felony or misdemeanor. You should consult an attorney in your area to review and advise you. Most will not charge you for the initial consultation. If you cannot afford a private lawyer, a public defender will be appointed for you. Whatever you do, you must have a lawyer and do not talk to the prosecution or the police.
