Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

The other day me and my girl were driving when a guy cuts her off and they start yelling at each other then instead of letting it go he follows us into a parking lot and I get out and we start yelling at each other I told him I will fuck you up then we start yelling more and he starts calling the cops we take off and he starts following us and writes down our license plate no one was ever touched no damage to anything it was all verbal..... Should I be worried??? Can the cops get involved for something like that??? Thank you for your time!!!

You should not speak to law enforcement....EVER....when you could be the suspect of an investigation. Based on what you told me, and my being a Former Deputy District Attorney, and a Certified Criminal Law Specialist, with over 26 years of experience, your statement..." I will fuck you up", could be a Criminal Threat, in violation of 422 P.C....A Felony And a Strike.....If you think law enforcement may be speaking with you, I advise you to retain an attorney IMMEDIATELY....Let your lawyer speak on your behalf.....This is a charge that could change your life.....I wish you well.......David Wallin

Best case scenario - nothing comes of this.

Worst case? We have no idea what this guy will claim happened. If he says things like you tried to run him off the road,, run him over... that's assault with a deadly weapon. The "F you up" statement could be seen as a criminal threat. Both of those possible charges can be felonies and strikes.

Obviously, neither of you should be making ANY statement to ANYONE about this. If contacted by law enforcement, firmly but politely request an attorney and say nothing else.
