Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Are hospitals and licensing boards more forgiving towards a misdemeanor for possession than that of a crime of moral turpitude? Is there a significant distinction between a crime of moral turpitude and misdemeanor that is not of moral turpitude?

It is impossible to make a generalization. It depends upon the hospital and the specific facts of the conviction. But since people who work in hospitals often have to deal with drugs many hospitals are quite leery of anyone who has a drug conviction. They are also worried that people who have crimes of moral turpitude might steal personal items from patients. While it is difficult for the lay person (and sometimes professionals) to distinguish between crimes of moral turpitude and other crimes there is a distinction in most cases You should talk to an attorney who works in the field is you have a question.
