Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

What if the lawyer i hired misrepresented him self. Said he was a criminal attorney but was actually a bankruptcy attorney. My husband ended up getting shafted because of his incimpetence how can i fix this?

Shafted how?

Many attorneys practice in more than one area of law... and others focus on one.

If his conduct was far below that of a competent attorney, an appeal of a conviction may have merit. It really depends on what the case was about, how it resolved and what the issues are/were.

Talk to either an appellate attorney if this was a trial or another (exclusively) criminal defense attorney to discuss.
