minute order explination

recently released on own recognacence, next to appearance date are the letters CPX. Is this a pre-trial examination and why? Do I need a lawyer? This is a felony criminal case. thanks......

Don't know what CPX stands for, and it doesn't matter; the date is what matters; it's an arraignment date.

"Do you need a lawyer"? Are you experienced and educated in all the rules of court, evidence, motions, pre-trial procedures, trial practice, etc? If so, you may not need an attorney. If not, then how would you propose to properly represent yourself on the charges that could put you in prison, against a professional prosecutor intending to put you there?
