Re: Phony or stolen checks

The prosecution has a sufficient case to prosecute and convict. However, as a first offender, jail is extremely unlikely. Restitution is almost certain.

Your goal should be an 'adjournment in contemplation of dismissal' or a violation.

An attorney would be extremely helpful to you in this situation.

You are welcome to a consultation for no fee.

I am a lawyer and represent a client who has the same problem as your friend. He hired me through this service after he was charged by the District Attorney with two felonies - forgery and second degree burglary. The preliminary hearing is set for tomorrow.

Re: Phony or stolen checks

If convicted of theft, which is probable, she could be put in prison or placed on probation with or without jail time. Retaining an attorney should be a priority.
