Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Calif I am graduating next month with a BRN but am afraid I will be refused a license. I had a DUI 7 years ago and have been told the board will refuse to allow me to take the licensing test. I have never even had a parking ticket since then and have no record. It was expunged. I was also told I have to prove I do not have a drinking problem by a professional, but how do you prove that? The DUI was 7 years ago. Do I need an attorney?

If it was expunged then that is good. There is no way anyone can prove they don't have a drinking problem; a DUI does not always mean " alcoholic". You need an attorney if you are denied the ability to take the exam.

Even if the DUI was expunged you must report it when you apply for your license, I agree with Mr. Wheeler that if you are denied a license you need a lawyer to appeal the denial.
