If you go to any DMV field office and ask for the form you need to get a work permit to drive following a charge of DUI they will provide you with one. Make sure you schedule your DMV hearing, you only have ten days following the charge to challenge the loss of your driving privilege.

The fines can vary. Expect no less than $1000-(however, it can be negotiated with the prosecutor) this is why you want an attorney to represent you in these matters, you can arrange a plea agreement if you can establish evidence that is likely to create a reasonable doubt. You can apply for a restricted license after 30 days of suspension. As Ms. Shefman said, be sure to request a DMV hearing within 10 days of your arrest.

The fines in Alameda County are $1760.00. You are also facing six months imprisonment for a conviction of either of the 23152 charges you are facing (everyone is charged with two counts). Note that, in most circumstances, while you can be convicted of both charges, you'll be sentenced for only one.

A DUI is not like other moving violations, as it is a misdemeanor and will be prosecuted by the district attorneys office. Do not plan on the police officer not showing up at trial. You should take the process very seriously and consider retaining legal counsel.
