Legal Question in DUI Law in California

What are the Statue of Limitations for a DUI warrant for the State of California

If you have a warrant for a DUI twelve years ago, does it still have merrit. Can I still be arrested if I return to California?

warrants are forever. You can be arrested in ANY state, if your record is run during a traffic stop for instance. I suggest you deal with the problem and avoid the risk of being jailed and transported to CA. You can hire an attorney local to the CA court, who can negotiate a plea bargain for you. By turning yourself in, the court is likely to go far easier on you after this long with no further arrests. It MAY be possible to handle the entire matter through counsel without you having to come to CA, and MAY be possible to get the penalties all converted to one fine to pay. If interested, contact me if the case is in a Southern California court.
