Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am 68 and had a heart attack 9 yrs ago. So time is important to me. I have met a lady that is 63 and her permit to be in the US has expired. We have talked about marriage. We would then apply for a green card. My concern is, I have limited financial resources. They are sufficient to meet our daily needs, but if she were to get seriously ill, would a prenuptial agreement protect me from major medical expenses from either the hospital or medical? I am not trying to be selfish. I just need to be sure I don't become a burden to someone else. I do own a house and therefore have a place to live. If I lost it, I would have no place to go except my kids. I need to take care of myself.

A prenuptial agreement is not going to protect you against creditors, which have a right to look at your separate property or community property to satisfy a debt.
