I'm 17 and live with my mother whom has full custody over me, but my mother is in bad health. If something were to happen to my mother, would I have no other choice but to move in with my father? My father and I dont get along at all; and we have not spoken to each other in months.

If your mother dies or is incapacitated before you turn 18, your father would get custody unless living with him would subject you to child abuse or neglect. Once you are 18 you can live wherever you want, within your financial means.
You may wish to file for emancipation since you are 17 years old. However in order to do so, you would need to have a place to live and a means of supporting yourself. Additionally, it may be difficult to obtain if your parents do not consent to your emancipation.
