Legal Question in Family Law in California

can i go back to family court to get a court order on child support arrears on someone that has filed bankruptcy also can i also file contempt charges for this person not following court orders to pay a divorce settlement money since 2006 and the extra child support also since 2006 on the divorce money he owes 60,000 and on the child support arrears owes 30,000 he filed in 2010.

i was told i could file for the child support arrears and he would have to pay but he has claimed the divorce money in bankruptcy i know it cannot be discharged but i still want to know if i can file contempt charges since he did not pay since 2006. date he filed bankruptcy 2010

You may have problems with the settlement money, but the support is unaffected by the bankruptcy. Go ahead and file the OSC re: contempt.
