Legal Question in Family Law in California

In CA. Wife and husband don't have current custody agreement, only the 50/50 marriage default child custody. Husband filed Request for Order for child custody and Meditation Hearing is set for June 23. In request, Husband asked that he have physical custody and wife visit every other weekend unsupervised. After Request for Order filed wife is becomes homeless and CPS had wife and husband sign agreement for wife to have supervised visitation due to delusions. Does husband have to file a new Request for Order and get a new Mediation hearing date to now ask that wife's visitation be supervised?

He should be able to keep the current dates and just file an amended Request for Order.
