Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child custody...

I am a mother of two children whom I share joint legal custody of. They reside in California with their father as he has primary physical custody. Is it legal for him to go out of state for weeks and months at a time to work leaving the children with his girlfriend? I have voiced my disagreement to him and now he no longer tells me when he leaves town he simply goes. Can I go and get the children if he continues to do this without notifying me?

Re: Child custody...

You may be able to get a court order that you have the right to care for the children if he will be available to care for them for more than 24 hours. That change would generally be easier to obtain than a complete change of custody.
