Legal Question in Family Law in California

My ex-wife is trying to take my 9 year old son out of country for Father's day and bought tickets without consulting with me even though I have 50% legal custody and is now trying to take me to court to get the judge's permission to take him out of country without my consent. She is trying to force me to pay half the cost for the emergency trial and pay to move his plane ticket. Our custody paperwork requires my notarized signature for him to leave the country. What can I do?

It really depends upon what the terms of the judgment says. The court may or may not grant the request depending upon a variety of factors. You can go into court and argue. Without knowing all the factors it is hard to provide a specific answer. You as the father would normally get your son for fathers day. You should have an attorney look at the judgment and advise you before the court date. If you think your wife will attempt to take your child out of the country without permission you can also go to court to ask the judge to prevent same.
