how often can i ask for my ex-wife to fill out and income and expense declaration? can I do this annually?

Post judgment, you serve her via certified mail with a Request for Production of an Income and Expense Declaration After Judgment, form FL-396.

Yes, you can demand that your ex provide you with an income and expense declaration ("IED") every year. The Family Code will tell you exactly how to do this or you can consult with an attorney. Be alert, however, because usually when one party does this, it often triggers the other party to do the same thing. Do not ask for the IED if you are not willing to reciprocate because the ex will probably ask for yours.
