Legal Question in Family Law in California

My husband kicked myself and our two minor children out of our house, changed the locks, refused to pay registration for our family vehicle which is in his name, and has refused to help support us financially because we are separated. Everything is in his name and prior to separation I was a sahm so I have no income as well as no transportation. I have filed dissolution and custody documents and am waiting for a mediation in June but until then I need to be versed in my rights regarding our children, finances, and transportation. I currently am in possession of the family car but cannot drive it due to his failure and refusal to pay the registration and insurance. I am willing to let him see the children but am afraid that with no court orders he will try and keep our children that he has never had in his care longer than 30 mins to an hour alone. He has never fed, bathed, or watched our children for any long period of time.

You need to get an attorney to file for ex parte emergency temporary orders on custody, support and finances. A decent lawyer may even be able to get you moved into the house and him out.
