Legal Question in Family Law in California

I've had legal and physical custody since my son was three years old, he is now sixteen. The father in my case has expressed that he may now seek joint legal custody due to the fact that he has more legal resources, as he has been in custody battles with two other mothers that he has kids with and has won joint legal. What are his chances? My son has expressed that he doesn't want him involved in his school life and honestly there's no reason for him to be. He is in his junior year with never having a grade lower than an A, throughout his high school years. I believe that my son is at the age where he can testify to his reasons and how his Dad's added pressure has affected him. However, what is the weight of a testimony from a sixteen year old. Please advise...Thank you.

Your son can testify as to his preferences, but it seems to me the greatest weight in your case is that the father has been out of his life so long and involved with custody battles elsewhere.
