my mom is the sole bread winner at our home and my dad is thinking of getting a divorce, he lives off of social security. how likely will is be that he get custody of my younger siblings

The fact that your mother works or that your father is on Social Security will not affect the custody decision. It will be based on non-economic factors contributing to what is in the best interest of the children.

Relative incomes have nothing to do with custody decisions. That's what child support is for.
