Mr. Chaudhry represents me and is requesting a copy of my divorce files I was divorced in 1976 how long does it take to get the papers it's already 8 months.

Who is he requesting them from and why. Eight months seems like a long time in any case, but what would be a reasonable time depends on who has them and why you are trying to get forty year old records.
