Legal Question in Family Law in California

My oldest daughter adopted my youngest daughters child. I was a big part of my granddaughter's life. My oldest daughter is upset at me for trying to help her sister get her life back together and wont let me see my granddaughter. Can I ask for visitation thru the courts? I live in Shasta County. Why does some courts have local forms on Grandparents visitation and others don't?

If you have a sustained and significant relationship with your grandchild then you may qualify in the courts eyes to continue that relationship. Please meet with an experienced family law attorney to explore your legal options. Well it's true grandparents do not have a special right to visitation with the grandchildren, significant third-party relationships can and will be honored by the courts if it's in the children's best interests.
