Legal Question in Family Law in California

I plan on marrying a guy with some debt. He owes back federal/CA taxes and student loans. Once we are married, can collectors come after my money/assets if he never pays?

Yes they can come after his property and anything that is considered community property, such as money you have in a bank account from your earnings. To protect yourself, you should deposit your earnings into a bank account in your name that he cannot withdraw from.
