Legal Question in Family Law in California

Pro Bono Attorneys

Are there any attorneys available to do public service in the Southern California area; Los Angeles. I desperately need an attorney that can help me file a motion to set aside a PRO/Permanent Restraining Order so that I may seek custody of my daughter. My daughter's father had manipulated the court system to seek custody of my daughter so that he not only could apply for public assistance but to also prevent from paying further child support payments. He obtained the PRO by telling the courts that I had been abusing my daughter and threatened to harm him. Are there any attorneys that can at least help me do the paperwork. I can try to do the appearance in court as long as I can get my foot in the door. The free legal services in Los Angeles have not been any help. And appointments are too far long on calendar for me to wait to be with my daughter.

Re: Pro Bono Attorneys

1. You don't need to set aside the restraining order to have custody/visitation.

2. If you need a pro bono or low cost lawyer, call Legal Aid, call the LA County Bar Association, call Levitt & Quin (a firm that does low cost) or try going to a self help center in the courthouse.
