Legal Question in Family Law in California

Hello my question is..... Is there a law that would protect my rights if i hired an attorney to represent me & he does not show up on the date of trial in a family court hearing... The reason for the question is I lost the case and feel i most likely would have won if my attorney showed up... Also he never subbed out & technically he was still my attorney during the trial that the Judged forced me to represent myself... Is there any case law that protects me from a Judge that has forced me to represent myself ... even when i did not have any paper work or understanding of the laws...

If that happened you need to be talking to a new attorney about filing a motion for a new trial, suing the prior attorney, and complaining about the prior attorney to the California State Bar. You should be doing that immediately.
