Legal Question in Family Law in California

Recorded conversations for court use

My ex-husband is attempting to gain full custody of our daughter. I can't afford an attorney like he can so I have been recording conversations with him, our daughter, his attorney and others involved. Can I legally use them for my defense in Court?

It is a misdemeanor to record phone conversations without informing the other party. Face to face conversations may be recorded (otherwise, we would have no real TV or candid camera). The court will probably require that the conversations have been reduced to a transcript.
