Legal Question in Family Law in California

My son is sixteen years old and a junior in high school. I have had full legal custody since he was three years old. His father is now interested in having access to his grades and has went directly to school to gain access. His school has the legal paperwork on and file and has been supportive but they are speaking to their lawyer to make sure that they're handling this situation correctly. My son has a 4.0 GPA, so I'm secure with what he sees but I'm concerned because he has used bullying tactics in past towards my son. What are my rights, as far as having legal custody? Do I have to permit him access to my son's grades? Or do I have the right to block this, especially since he's shown little to no input in his education thus far? Please let me know. Thank you.

If you have sole legal and physical custody, the school should get your permission to release the information to the father.
