Legal Question in Family Law in California

I wanted to know regarding child visitation.

The child is with mother. Father wants to visit her and there is no court orders issued.

Father contacted through the email and asking to take her for 3 hours.

What are my options can I say No or can I ask him to meet her at my place or public place for 1 hour.

Please guide me.

Thanks

You can do any of the options you mentioned. The question is what should you do. The answer to the question depends several facts. Among those factors are, the age of the child, dad's activity with the child, distance between you home and dad's home. One of the factors considered by the court is the willingness to work out these problems and cooperate with the other parent. The child's medical needs, medications and physical needs. dad's ability to meet the child's needs.

The sooner you get court ordered parenting time confirmed, the better it will be for all concerned on knowing the parameters of raising the child. Court orders are enforceable while informal agreements are not.
