Legal Question in Family Law in California

My wife has let me know that the para legal and law firm she is using has our divorce papers ready to file. She says the para legal was required by law to sign them off and wants to know if I want them mailed (which I have to immediately sign for) or hand delivered. By receiving these papers this is not agreeing with anything is it, or is it ok to receive them and have an attorney review them. I just want to make sure I have a chance to review them before anyone says this is the way its going to be. Then do they get filed after I agree or make changes?

If she's trying to send you is a standard petition for dissolution, there would be no harm in receiving the papers in a fashion that you stated. However, if she's also trying to serve you motions or other sorts of important documents, accepting service in this fashion may not be in your best interests. Please meet with an experienced family law attorney to explore your options.
