Can a written agreement override an existing court order?

It depends on the subject of the order and agreement, and whether the people are honest in abiding by it. Courts will almost always turn any reasonable, good faith agreement into an order in a family law case. So if you want to agree to modify an order, it is MUCH better to just submit an agreed modified order and ask the court to enter it. Your local self-help center of family law facilitator can help you do that.
