can this act protect my job due to work i have missed for child and school related issues. (child with behavior problems)

If you otherwise meet the qualifying criteria, the Act allows you to take up to 12 weeks off, within a 12 month period, to care for seriously ill child. There is another law in California that provides some protection for employees who are requested to appear at their child's school (Labor Code section 230.7).
