Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

CA CCP 1094.6 (located in Los Angeles)

Where does one get the forms to file the petition for writ of mandate and where must they be filed?

I will need an attorney to reveiw the forms before filing. This is a city corruption case in which the city is permiting a building to be built that fails to meet the Building Code in many ways. A separate suit at the federal level may also be filed under Section 1983 for failor of due process.

There is no standard form for this. A petition for a writ of mandate has to be specially prepared. Drafting one is not easy.

Based upon the limited facts you have provided, it isn't clear that you have a viable case -- either for a writ if mandate in the state courts or under Section 1983 in the federal courts.

I have many years of experience in writs and appeals, and am a certified appellate specialist (per the State Bar of California's Board of Legal Specialization). Feel free to contact me directly if you want to discuss your options.

There are no forms. A writ is a custom drafted pleading. If you don't know how to do it, and what it must contain, you will need to hire someone who does. You only get one shot at it. Expect to spend at least several thousand dollars in fees.
