Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

consumer rights

I bought a 5.0 liter Mustang used. I have $238.00 payments for 2 years, and in less than 30 days the 8 cylinder car is only running on 3 cylinders. The car lot said too bad it was sold as is. Isn't there some kind of law that covers major parts for 30 days even if it is as is?

Re: consumer rights

Basically, "as is" means just that. If you can, however, prove that there were material misrepresentations ,, or failure(s) to disclose, so that you could not, and did not, know the true facts of what "as is" was, you may have a cause of action for damages or recission.
